Steve Schmitz Senior Project Manager

Steve joined SOJ in 2024, bringing with him over 10 years of architecture, historic preservation, and project management experience, specializing in navigating unique existing and historic site redevelopment. As a seasoned architect, Steve oversaw design of Civic, Justice, K-12 schools, and multifamily residential programs in a wide variety of settings and project delivery methods. His recent projects include examples such as the Chapter at Eugene student housing tower, and the new Tukwila Justice Center. Steve graduated from Washington State University and received a Master of Architecture. He is a practicing architect and AIA member, NCARB certified professional, and serves on the Edmonds Architecture Design Board.

Steve was raised in the Pacific Northwest, and currently resides in Edmonds. He enjoys spending time hiking and exploring the Cascade foothills and experiencing nature, and is an avid baker trying new recipes to share with his family and colleagues.
