Marlo Dowell Senior Project Manager

Marlo brings more than 20 years of experience in architecture, construction, and project and program management to her role at SOJ. A registered architect by training, her career has included work in architecture, construction technology, and owner-side project management, giving her a broad perspective on how projects come together from early planning through construction and closeout. Her experience spans public, nonprofit, commercial, workplace, and community-focused projects. Marlo enjoys working alongside owners to bring clarity and organization to complex projects, helping teams navigate decisions, manage competing priorities, and keep projects moving forward. Her approach is grounded in clear communication, practical problem-solving, and an understanding of both the design and construction process.

Marlo is particularly interested in the people and processes behind successful projects. She believes good project management means creating a framework for teams to work well together, identifying issues early, and making sure owners have the information they need to make informed decisions.

Marlo earned her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, with a minor in Urban Design and Landscape Architecture, as well as a Master of Business Administration and Management from Miami University. She also holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Washington. In addition to being a registered architect, Marlo is a LEED Accredited Professional and Scrum-certified.

Outside of work, Marlo enjoys spending time on Puget sound with her family, traveling, and riding, training and competing with her dressage horse.
